Canoeing in the Vendée
If you have
your own canoe or kayak then you will be spoilt for choice as to where
to go, as the Vendée has more waterways than virtually any other
Department in France and of course 160 kilometres of coastline. It is an
ideal way to see the landscapes of the Vendée whether you choose the
marshes of the Marais Poitevin. Marais Breton or Marais Olonne, the
rivers Lay, Vie, Yon, Sèvre Noirtaise, Sèvre Nantaise or Vendée,
or indeed the many lakes throughout the region. Taking to the water
allows you to go where no one else can, you can discover the quiet
unspoilt canals of the marais or the gently flowing rivers in a calm and
gentle way.
If you want to hire a canoe or kayak there are many outlets throughout the Vendée and we have listed most, but possibly not all.
