Sion-sur-l'Ocean

Sud Vendee.. Haut Bocage.. Coastal Region.. Marais Poitevin.. Marais Breton.. Bas Bocage.. Plaine.. Marais Olonne..
This seaside resort which comes under the commune of St.Hilaire-de-Riez is on the border of the rocky coastline of the Corniche Vendéenne and the long sandy beaches that stretch uninterrupted all the way to St. Jean-de-Monts.
The town has all the amenities one would need for a seaside holiday including beaches of various sizes which should cater for all one’s requirements.

Corniche Vendéenne. This is one of the few areas of cliffs on the Vendée coast. Beginning on the north side of the River Vie at St. Gilles-croix-de-Vie, it is five kilometres of low rugged cliffs with small sandy coves ending at the six sisters rocks at Sion-sur-l'Ocean.
The whole length has been developed to allow walkers, cyclist and car drivers to enjoy this picturesque natural site  drawing a vast number of visitors to the area. One of the best times to see the raw natural beauty of the Corniche is during or after an Atlantic storm when the rollers crash onto the jagged rocks sending towering clouds of spray into the air. Amongst the most spectacular places during these storms is the 'Devils Hole' a rock with a large hole that forces the sea to shoot skyward, like a geyser.

At 201 Forest Avenue there is a bowling, laser game and fitness centre.
