Here you can spend a day discovering the natural and human story of the Vendéen Breton marshes.
On the 15 hectare site that makes up this unique nature reserve you
will discover, traditionally constructed buildings, a salt marsh, a site
dedicated to the conservation of breeds of animals and varieties of
plants from the past as well as other treasures not to be missed.
Throughout the year there are exhibitions as well as the new "Espace
Natural" an interactive and educational exhibition on the Vendée Breton
Marshes.
3rd week July Nocturnes Oceane--Marais-de-Monts. This is a concert of traditional music.
25th July Fete des Battages. This is a celebration of ancient harvesting techniques and the machinery used.
6th August. La Nuit des Etiole, 22h The stars at night.
22nd August Habit de Fete. A demonstration of regional dance, Music and traditions.
September to December. A contemporary art exposition.
There are also collections of farm tools and machinery as well as artefacts from the daily life of a marshland farmer.
New 2010: An interactive exhibition with various TV and radio representations about man and the sea.
