A
relatively new community developed to service the holiday trade and with
13kilometers of beaches it enjoys a dedicated following of sun loving
visitors who regularly return to not only surf, sail, walk and sun bath,
but to enjoy the countless other attraction this resort has to offer.
The beaches of Bretignolles many of the them nestling in amoungst the rocky coast line which contains not only the highest cliffs in the region, but the rocks themselves come in an unusual variety of forms. The famous beaches of Sauzais and La Paree come within the commune of Bretignollies, as do la Normandiere with it's enthasis on nautical sports and Dunes plage. All of the above have surveillance during June to September
There are street markets on Sundays and Thursdays throughout the year and on Mondays and Tuesdays during July and August.
The 7th Wave music festival will take place on the 3rd and 4th June 2011
Bretignolle regularly host surfing competitions the last one in 2009 was a great success and drew competitors from around the world.
The Parc des Dunes with it's mass of family entertainment is open from Easter till 12th September 2010. There is a skate parc at Parc des Morinieres.
