Reserve Naturelle de St.Denis-du-Payre

On the edge of the Marais Poitevin this nature reserve situated on the protected wet grasslands is home to around 120 species of wild birds, here they find the ideal conditions which are essential to their survival.
You can see them on a tour starting at the visiters centre in the village,with its slide slow, displays on the story of the wetlands and the birds that make it their home and the bird watching tower.
You can then go out onto the reserve itself, where a pathway on stilts takes you to an observatory equipped with 18 telescopes and seats. There is a naturalist guide on hand to help you get the best from your visit.
Birds that are regular visitors include; Black winged Stilt, redshank, pintail, Spoonbill, marsh harrier, blackwinged godwit, widgeon, teal, Greylag goose, lapwings and heron.

January, every Sunday 14.00 to 17.00
February, March, April, May. Every Sunday 14.00 to 18.00
June. Every Sunday, 15.00 to 19.00
July August. Every Day except Saturdays 9.30 t0 12.30 & 15h to 19h

Tarif: 5.00€  Reductions for Students, Handicapped and children 7 to 17 years old.   Free for the under 7 year olds
