Pentecôte Lundi or day of Solidarity on this day people work for no pay.

14th Fête Nationale (Bastille day)

November 11th Jour d'armistice (Armistice day)
December 25th Noel (Christmas day)
Boulangeries, (bakers) These
are generally open in the mornings, although there are local
exceptions.
Super Markets. On some of the above days there may be
limited opening in the morning and if the holiday falls on a Saturday. The
supermarket usually puts a notice on all the doors a few days in advance,
so be careful to check.
Restaurants, cafes and bars. These are
generally open on all public holidays except Christmas and New Year although
even here there could be exceptions.
Motorway Services. These have to
stay open every day, but the services may be restricted.
Petrol
Stations. Generally petrol stations are closed, but those on busy routes may
be open. Some have 24hr service via credit cards, but many of these only
accept French cards, so keep your vehicle topped up.
Breakdown
Service. These are still available although you may have difficulty getting
in contact with them, If you have insurance cover for breakdowns there will
always be assistance.
