Parc de
Pierre Brune.
Set in
the heart of the Mervent Forest East of Fontenay le Comte in the South Vendée,
Pierre Brune is a Fun Park on a 25 acre site full of attractions for all the
family.
From April to Mid September the park is open most days from 11.00
to 19.00 and in July and August is open every day from 10-30 to 19-30. The price
of entry is €10.50 for an adult and child and includes all the activities,
(except the mini Carting and the 2 tennis de terre battue).
An annual
pass is available (with Photo) at a cost of €30 per person, however if you are
thinking of visiting we would suggest that you check their website (website
address http://www.mervent-foret.com/) for full details.
The Latest attraction “The Turbo Slide” is, at 50 meters, the
longest in France and was a new addition for the 2008 season. The list of
activities at the park is comprehensive and includes:- Bumper boats, a giant
trampoline, 2 mini golf courses, an electronic bucking bull, mini carting,
bouncy castles of several descriptions and even a little Train that makes a 20
minute tour of the site.
There is a Restaurant "L'ermitage", a snack bar
and an ice cream stall, so a variety of refreshments are available if
required.
One of the things that strikes most English visitors as amazing
is that there seem to be no age or size restrictions on the different
activities. One of my clients passed the comment that the English Health and
Safety Department would have a field day at the Park. However, and I’m not at
all surprised, notwithstanding the perceived Health and Safety issues, we have
mainly good comments from our customers about this
attraction.
