rehabilitation of the old salt marshes has brought the work of the
salt-gatherers back to life. The salt store house, a model and an exhibition
showing the function of the salt marshes and the various stages in the formation
of the salt itself.
Let the "sauniers" be your guide on a journey into the world of salt gathering and experience the other worldly atmosphere of this expanse of land and water.
All summer long you are invited to discover the traditional way of life associated with the gathering of salt.
Then, Antony Oger Saunier of the Marais de l'etoile invites you to discover his "sel de Vie", his cooking salt and his "Fleur de sel".
Open: June & Sept. Every day 14.30 till 18.30h
July & August every day 10h-12h & 14.30 till 18.30
Guided tours at 11h, 16h & 17.30h
