Tucked away
in the north east corner of the Vendée, on the banks of the Grande
Maine, the Maison de la Rivière is a haven of peace and tranquillity.
The visitor’s centre is devoted to the freshwater world of the river. In this old watermill on a five acre site, discover the secrets of the river through interactive displays.
After leaving the centre take a stroll along one of the trails, discovering the fauna and flora of the river bank or perhaps take a short boat trip.
During the summer there are a variety of activities from concerts to theatrical performances.
Opening Times:
From 01/04 to 31/05: Wednesday and Saturday from 14h to 18h, Sundays and public holidays from 14h to 19h (from 07/04 to 22/04: Tuesday to Saturday from 14h to 18h, Sunday and holidays from 14h to 19h).
From 01/06 to 30/06: Tuesday to Saturday from 14h to 18h, Sunday 14h to 19h.
From 01/07 to 31/08: every day without interruption 11h to 19h.
From 01/09 to 16/09: Tuesday to Saturday from 14h to 18h Sundays from 14h to 19h.
From 17/09 to 30/09: Wednesday and Saturday from 14h to 18h, Sunday 14h to 19h.
Tariff: Adults €4.00.
Children (6-13) €2.00.
Free for children under 6years
