JARDIN DU VENT
29,Bis Rue Gilbert Cesbon, Notre Dame de Mont.
Tel 02 28 11 26 43
In the heart
of the village of Notre Dame de Mont, on a dune close to the coast of
the Atlantic Ocean and dressed in unusual sails stands the windmill and
below it is the Jardin du Vent. This garden is dedicated to the wind,
with its artistic structures, wind chimes and all things meteorological.
Take a stroll through the gardens and discover the ways man has
interacted with the wind, pass by the Rose des Vents or stop off at the
outdoor theatre.
Ever year the gardens host a new exhibition, this year the exhibition
brings visitors face to face with sculptures that change as the wind
changes.
During July and August there is a workshop on kites.
The Garden brings to life the subtleties that the wind has to offer and
the sensitive relationship that man has with his environment, the tools
he has invented and the educational responsibilities of handing on that
knowledge. Inside there are exhibits that demonstrate our sense of
smell, which remarkably does not decrease with age as the receptors are
continuously replaced.
