people the charm of the Vendée is its beautiful rural countryside and taking
one’s holiday not only in the heart of these rural landscapes, but in a
traditional farmhouse is their ultimate ideal holiday destination.
Today, due
to the health and safety regulations, few are on working farms. Most are
converted farmhouses let as a single unit or as a part of a complex where a
large property has been split up to form several Gites or cottages.
Many will
have a swimming pool and of course they will all share the fact that they are in
truly rural surroundings.
Below is a selection of farmhouses in the Vendée
starting with those that are "stand alone" meaning that one is the sole renter
on the site. These are followed by Farmhouse complexes where there are two or
more units that are for rent on the site. Each has its own
advantages.
