Château Guibert
This attractive village just a few kilometers north of Marieul-sur-Lay
has the appearance of being an island, in fact it sits on an narrow
peninsula in the Lac du Marillet. The lake was created by the barrage
that dammed the river Marillet and its tributary la Moinie, finished in
1987 the125 hectare lake is the second largest in the Vendée and holds a
reserve of 7,200.000cubic meters of water.
The lake and its surrounding lands are ideal for fishing and also
enjoying charming walks in a very quiet and picturesque setting.
