The Chateau de la Greve can trace its origins back to the middle of the XII century, when it was the home of the Cabot family. They
fortified the castle and it played an important role as a fortress
during the Hundred Years War. It was at the peak of its power in the
XVII century due in part to its Lord, a man called Durcot who was a
close friend of Henry IV.
In 1802 it was sold and converted into a working farm, and today thanks
to an army of volunteers new life has been breathed into the Château,
which, as well as being open to the public for guided or self guided
tours, now also stages annual events such as medieval days, Christmas
markets, children’s activities and medieval workshops.
