The
Bourrine du Bois Juquaud built in 1818, is a collection of authentic buildings constructed from mud with
roofs of reeds
and is a reminder
of life in the Vendéen Breton marshes in the early years of the last
century.
Buildings, utensils and everyday objects bear witness to the life
of the marsh people of the Vendéen Breton marshes at the beginning of the
century.
It has been restored as a part of the Vendée’s Living Museum, and
provides visitors with a permanent exhibition which includes a large number of
documents to help everyone to understand and appreciate all aspects of this
local heritage.
