The Bourrine du Bois Juquaud built in 1818 is a collection of authentic buildings constructed from mud with roofs of reeds, it is a reminder of life in the vendeen Breton marshes in the early years of the last century.
Buildings, utensils and everyday objects are witness to the life of the marsh people in the Vendee Breton marsh at the beginning of the century.
It has been restored as a part of the Vendee's Living Museum, the site provides visitors with a permanent exhibition which includes a large number of documents to help understand and appreciate all aspects of this local heritage.
The multimedia (exhibition and projection, interactive) completes this special place.

Open:  February March     Monday to Friday         14h till 18h
            April.                       Tuesday to Sunday       14h till 18h
            May, June & Sept. Monday to Saturday     14h - 18h
                                            Sundays & Holidays     15h till 19h
            July, August            Monday to Saturday     10h till 12.30 & 14h till 19h
Sundays and public holidays from 15h to 19h.
          Guided tours at 10:30 and 15h.
