Beach l'Aubraie
The beach at
l'Aubraie is just north of la Chaume and can be reached from the Route
de l'Aubraie by taking the road marked Chemin de l'Aubraie au Corps de
Garde. There is parking close to the beach.
This is a favourite spot for surfers and rates highly on the list of best surfing beaches in the North Vendée.
L'Aubraie is the start of several kilometres of beaches with rocky outcrops which continue as far as the beach at des Granges and includes the beaches at Le Sauveterre
(accessible by car), Grand Chaveaux and Menhir although these can only
be accessed by walking through approximately 1 kilometre of the pine
forest. At the beginnings of these walks there are small parking areas
which quickly become full in high season.
