46ème Parallèle St.Gilles-Croix-de-Vie

This
small yet attractive restaurant is situated on the northern end of
harbour with views over the fishing port to the south and to the west
views of the port entrance and the sea.
The restaurants theme is a culinary voyage, to find inspiration from the cuisine from the worlds 46th parallele, a fusion of flavours from around the world.
The restaurants owner Bertand Granger is a 4th generation restaurateur and has created an unique little restaurant with great food, ambiance and great views. There is both indoor dining and a small outdoor terrace where diners can enjoy their meal and watch the world go by.
I found myself in St.Gilles for a business engagement and decided to try out the 46eme Parallele for a quick midday lunch. Eating alone is never the greatest of pleasures, but the staff made me very welcome. I chose to eat out on the small terrace which when you are eating alone was a good choice as rather than having a conversation with your fellow dinners I simply took in the activities of the harbour with boats coming and going.
There was a choice of Formule Globe Trotter for the Business person, lite daily specials 2 formules, one at 26€ the other 32€ , I decided on the formule Globe Trotter which gave a choice of 4 distinct cuisines The food was well presented and the flavours and textures made it a most enjoyable meal.
There are many restaurants in St.Gilles-Croix-de-Vie but I found this one was excellent value for money with good food and service. Trevor.
